Nursing Assistant Training
Central 社区 College offers the 76-hour training required by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services for registry and for employment as a nursing assistant. Upon successful completion of the course, students are eligible to take the state competency examination, which consists of a written and skills test.
Nursing assistants -- also known as nurse aides, 护理员, patient care technicians and home health aides -- assist patients with daily living tasks. They work in nursing homes, 医院, mental health facilities, assisted living facilities and private homes. Being a nursing assistant can also be a stepping stone to becoming an LPN, RN or other health professional. Job prospects for nursing assistants are expected to be excellent due to the increasing long-term-care needs of an aging population.
